Father and Son

Another commission for one of my boyfriends coworkers. She's the girlfriend of the young man in the picture and asked me to draw him and his father who passed away. They didn't have any recent pictures except for this blurry photograph out of a newspaper so that is what I worked from. It was really hard since the reference was so bad and I had to draw things that weren't there. But I'm glad with how it turned out, especially the beard The reference for the young man was slightly better (a passport picture) but still not as detailed as I would have liked. Funnily enough his portrait turned out worse in my opinion

Would you say it's obvious that I worked from two different references? I've never done that before so I tried to adjust the reflections in the eyes to make it seem like the pictures where taken at the same time and place
